The World Jewelry Center, an iconic, state-of-the-art tower with approximately one million square feet of mixed-use space, will be one of the largest jewelry hubs on the planet. Located in downtown's Union Park (the 61 acres across from the World Market Center), the new center will combine the corporate offices of domestic and international gem and jewelry companies. The mixed-use project will feature:
The World Jewelry Center will be a one-stop shop for both gem and jewelry professionals and the consuming public. The project is unique, in that professionals will have the opportunity to purchase their own office condominiums. The public will also benefit from a unique, service-oriented shopping experience that is educational in nature and promotes consumer confidence. The architecturally interesting project is slated to be upwards of 57 floors. The overall height could reach 800 feet, due to the high ceilings this building demands. This would make it the tallest building in the Las Vegas valley (excluding the Stratosphere). Construction was scheduled to begin in 2008, with completion planned in mid-2010 but with the current economic situation, this project is stalled |

January 29, 2007 Phase Two Opens July 25, 2005 The attention of the entire home furnishings and accessories industry focused on the grand opening of World Market Center, when it debuted with nearly 2.5 million square feet of permanent and temporary showrooms. As more buildings are developed on its 57 contiguous acres, the WMC is planned to grow to a total of 12 million square feet of showrooms and exhibit space, making it one of the largest, most important markets in the world. April 1, 2005 World Market Center officials today proudly announce plans for an expanded campus comprising 12 million square feet of permanent and temporary showrooms, dedicated to all segments of the home furnishings and hospitality contract industries. The original plans consisted of 7.5 million square feet of showrooms. The new development plans call for the buildings to be constructed in eight phases on a sprawling 57-acre campus in the heart of Las Vegas, with a completion date of 2015. Phase One of the campus is fully leased and completed, it was delivered to tenants in May followed by the first Las Vegas Market which was held July 25-29, 2005. MapD-2
